Xtreme Gaming Crowned Champions of Elite League
On the evening of April 14th, the two-week online tournament, Elite League, concluded.
In the best-of-5 final of the tournament, Xtreme Gaming and Team Falcons faced off. Both teams were invited by the organizers to the second group stage, where Team Falcons took first place in Group A, and Xtreme Gaming second in Group B.
Xtreme Gaming and Team Falcons met in the first round of the upper bracket playoffs, where the MENA-based club proved stronger—winning 2:0. On their way to the grand final, Team Falcons played another match and defeated Azure Ray decisively.
After dropping to the lower bracket, Xtreme Gaming defeated PSG Quest (2:0), Team Liquid (2:1), and Azure Ray (2:0).
The best-of-5 grand final of the Elite League started with a victory for Team Falcons on the first map, but Xtreme Gaming quickly tied the series on the second map and then won the next two maps. The final series score was 3:1 in favor of Xtreme Gaming.
The total prize pool of the Elite League was $960,000, of which Xtreme Gaming received $300,000 and Team Falcons $150,000.
Both finalists of the Elite League will participate in the next major Dota 2 tournament, ESL One Birmingham 2024, which will take place in the United Kingdom from April 22 to 28.
