Team Falcons Secure Clean Sweep Victory at ESL One Birmingham 2024

On the evening of April 28, the matches of ESL One Birmingham 2024 concluded, with Team Falcons triumphing in the best-of-5 grand final.

Team Falcons and BB Team, both starting in Group A, made it to the grand final. Both teams progressed to the upper bracket of the playoffs, with Team Falcons finishing first with a record of 1-4-0, and BB Team coming in second with a record of 2-2-1.

Both teams commenced in the upper bracket, with Team Falcons losing 1:2 to Tundra Esports, while BB Team defeated OG 2:1. Subsequently, BB Team overcame Tundra Esports 2:0 to reach the grand final, whereas Team Falcons battled through the lower bracket, defeating Team Liquid (2:1), OG (2:1), and Tundra Esports (2:0).

The best-of-5 grand final began with a victory for Team Falcons, who were behind in networth for much of the game but staged a comeback around the 37-minute mark to lead the series. In the second game, BB Team initially led, but failed to capitalize on their advantage, allowing Team Falcons to extend their series lead to 2:0 and reach match point.

The third game was the shortest of the series: this time, Team Falcons took an early lead and maintained it throughout, securing a clean sweep victory of 3:0 in the grand final.

The prize pool for ESL One Birmingham 2024 was $1,000,000, with the winners receiving $300,000. Team Falcons and BB Team will next compete in PGL Wallachia Season 1, which will take place in Romania from May 10-19.
