Keyd Stars, Thunder Awaken, and Virtus.pro Secure Spots at The International 2023
Following the qualifiers in South America and Eastern Europe, three more teams have secured their spots for The International 2023.
In South America, two slots for TI were up for grabs. Keyd Stars faced off against AcatSuki in the upper bracket finals, with a best-of-3 series ending 2:0 in favor of Keyd Stars. AcatSuki then dropped to the lower bracket finals, only to lose again 0:2, this time to Thunder Awaken.
Over in Eastern Europe, teams vied for a single slot to the year's premier Dota 2 tournament. The best-of-5 grand finals saw Virtus.pro (from the upper bracket) go head-to-head with One Move (from the lower bracket). Virtus.pro emerged victorious with a 3:0 score, with game durations of 26, 37, and 30 minutes respectively.
With these results, Keyd Stars, Thunder Awaken, and Virtus.pro join the roster of The International 2023 participants, alongside China's qualifier winner Azure Ray, nouns from North America, and teams that qualified through the DPC: Team Liquid, Gaimin Gladiators, Tundra Esports, 9Pandas, Evil Geniuses, PSG.LGD, Shopify Rebellion, Talon Esports, beastcoast, Team Spirit, TSM, and BB Team.
