Dota 2 Introduces Patch 7.36 with New Mechanics and Balance Changes
Valve has released gameplay patch 7.36, introducing a host of changes to hero and item balance. Additionally, Dota 2 now features two new mechanics.
The gameplay patch includes the new mechanics: Innate abilities and Hero facets.
Innate abilities are special abilities available from the start of the game, requiring no leveling up. Each hero has a unique ability that can provide various advantages. A significant portion of innate abilities automatically improve over the course of the game.
Hero facet is a new mechanic allowing players to select an additional mechanic for their hero before the match begins. Each hero has at least two facets to choose from.
The update also includes changes to items and other modifications. Notably, the building fortification system has been revamped. Glyph of Fortification refreshes when the first Tier 3 tower is destroyed; instead, the cooldown resets upon the first destruction of melee barracks.
The full list of changes in patch 7.36 is available on the official game website.
